Arroyo Parkway Pipeline Project Beginning Soon

The Arroyo Parkway Pipeline Project will improve the operation and reliability of the Pasadena’s water distribution system by replacing aging water pipelines currently in use along Arroyo Parkway between Glenarm Street and Cordova Street.

The project will include the installation of a new 8-inch and 12-inch pipeline along Arroyo Parkway starting at Glenarm Street and will continue northbound along Arroyo Parkway toward Cordova Street. The yearlong project is expected to begin in April and will be completed by April 2023. Construction will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

During the construction, there will be some lane closures and periodic road closures. The work will be executed in one-block segments to minimize traffic disruptions. Detours will be provided where necessary. All closures will be clearly marked and temporary traffic control and detour signs, including electronic message boards, will be used to inform commuters traveling along the impacted route and to take an alternative route.

Throughout each project phase, Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) will send notices to residents and businesses surrounding the project area. Crews will provide reminder notices 48 hours in advance of construction along affected properties. Additionally, notices of any water service interruptions will be given at least 48 hours in advance, and special efforts will be taken to keep any other inconveniences to a minimum.

PWP thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this project. These planned upgrades to the water delivery system will help modernize the City’s local water delivery infrastructure, and help increase the capacity and reliability of Pasadena’s water distribution system.
